Sewing Lessons and Pumpkin Carving

The missionaries are nuts about making "Aloha" ties. It is a mission wide phenomenon. Some have figured out a way to sew them by hand and they actually look quite nice. Some get wind that we have a sewing machine and our rare, quiet, p-days are over! Elder Cameron is the master tie teacher.

The Sisters arrive, first.

Sister Nunez (Philippines)

Sister Lee (China) has never used an iron or sewing machine. She pushes the machine pedal all the way to the floor and leaves the hot iron on the ironing board pad and tries to burn up our pad. We mock her until she starts to play the piano. She's a master and all is forgiven.

Sisters Lee and Yi (Korea)

Elder Roberts (Utah)

They made them for the entire Zone. I told you they were nuts!

I think he's the only missionary that didn't want to sew, so he found  something else to do. Laie Temple by Elder Cronin (Utah).

Just 10 seconds of one day.

Aloha

  1. That is a great tradition....mission ties. Not very many missions would have the opportunity d/t where they are to do that project.... probably only Hawaii. I guess the states could be red, white, blue stripes. That would be a little too much. Your are very gorgeous looking. What fun. We didn't have senior couples in any of the areas I was in....I guess I was senior enough:o) Press Onward and Upwared.
